There are more reasons to install new locks than most people think about:

Lock installation means replacing the physical lock hardware entirely. This is the right call when the lock is damaged, worn out, or when you want to upgrade to a different type or grade of lock.

Rekeying changes the internal pin configuration of your existing lock so that old keys no longer work. The lock hardware stays in place. This is faster and cheaper when the hardware is in good shape and you just need to cut off access for previous keyholders.
